Granular Access Control for Big Data stored at Cloud

The term big data is referred to huge amount of digital information that business enterprises collect for different purposes. Data sets grow in size gradually because they are increasingly being gathered by ubiquitous information-sensing mobile devices, software logs and various social networking websites. The emergence of big data has been introduced for better performance and enhanced scalability; however there are various security and privacy challenges that are magnified by volume and variety of data. The traditional security mechanisms in Cloud infrastructure to secure small scale static data become inadequate for securing big data on Cloud. The term big data draws a lot of attention but needs proper security mechanisms because of its increasing demand by business enterprises. Secrecy is the main security issue that matters from the perspective of access control to prevent unauthorized accesses to big data on Cloud. There is need to propose more efficient and reliable access control mechanisms to secure big data on Cloud.
