Ms. Ayesha Kanwal
Ms. Ayesha Kanwal has completed her Masters in Computer and Communication (MS-CCS) from NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS). Currently she is working as a Lecturer at Department of Computing (DoC), SEECS and working as a Research Fellow at AIS-Applied Information Security Lab. She is carrying out research in the areas of Cloud computing security, Cyber security, trusted computing, information and communication security, and identity management.
She has worked as a Professional Researcher at KTH-Applied Information Security Lab on an ICT R&D funded project entitled “Extensible Access Control Framework for Cloud based Applications (EACF)”, from May 2013-September 2014. During this tenure, she has actively participated in various research and development phases of the project. Her accomplishments were remarkable which includes supervision of internship students, numerous peer-reviewed presentations and publication of various research and journal papers in reputed journals and conferences.
Prior to MS degree, she had completed her bachelor's in Software Engineering from Military College of Signals (MCS-NUST), Islamabad. In her final year project she developed Video Surveillance security camera system for detection and classification of abandoned luggage. Abandoned luggage items which may pose potential security threats were first identified and localized by image processing techniques that include foreground-mask sampling, background subtraction and temporal and spatial tracking methods.
