Arjumand Fatima started her MS in Information Security from NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (SEECS) in 2013. After successfully completing her course work, she is currently working on her thesis under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Ghafoor. In her thesis, she is working on providing a “Generalized Attribute-Centric Access Control” solution. She is particularly interested in flexible and fine grained access control models. Her research interests include but are not limited to access control (policies, models and mechanisms ), single sign-on (SSO), identity management, security challenges in cloud computing, bring your own device (BYOD) and internet of things (IoT), cryptography and use of formal verification techniques in information security. Previously she completed her Bachelor’s in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (SEECS) in 2013. She is an IBM Certified DB2 Academic Associate as well.

Her association with KTH-SEECS AIS Lab started as an intern in 2012. Then she worked on her FYP in which she developed an “Identity Control and Access Management Solution for Cloud-Based Environment”. Soon after her graduation, she started working as a Research Associate and later as Development Lead in a National ICT R&D funded project entitled “Extensible Access Control Framework for Cloud Based Environment”. Prior to graduation, she did various other internships and worked as a Teaching Assistant as well. Her areas of expertise include Problem Solving, Software Engineering and Development, Mobile Application Development (Android, iOS), Java (J2SE, J2EE), C++ and Open Source Software Development, SAML, XACML, XML, JUnit, Hibernate, JSF, Primefaces, MySQL, RCP, Plugin Application Development, Apache Tomcat Server, Apache Maven, Apache Ant, SOAP Based Web Services and much more.
